Amal Farooq Malik is an Associate at Awaislaw DRT. She graduated with an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom, where she was awarded the Warwick Undergraduate Global Excellence Scholarship. She is enrolled as an Advocate with the Punjab Bar Council.
Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial advisory, banking and finance, infrastructure and public sector projects, dispute resolution, and arbitration. She has assisted on a broad range of matters, including legislative drafting, government advisory projects, commercial transactions, regulatory research, due diligence, and domestic and international arbitration.
Prior to joining Awaislaw DRT, Amal served as a Legal Research Associate at AFMalik Law, where she conducted research and analysis on corporate structures, investor agreements, and intellectual property disputes, including proceedings before the Pakistan Office of Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre. She also gained international experience through internships with Baker McKenzie in Bahrain and McDermott, Will & Emery in London, where she worked on banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, and emerging issues in artificial intelligence and intellectual property law.
Outside her practice, Amal serves as an Asia-Pacific Regional Board Member of the Global Alliance of Impact Lawyers (GAIL). She has a particular interest in intellectual property, entertainment, and sustainability law. Her undergraduate dissertation examined the evolution of copyright protection for music in the United States, reflecting her broader interest in the intersection of law, technology, creativity, and innovation.
