Asad Joined the legal fraternity after graduating from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) with the final thesis titled “A Case for Deregulation of Pakistan’s Economy”. During his degree, he amassed multiple invaluable experiences as the director of external relations at LUMS Law and Politics Society and worked in different capacities at various organizations.
These diverse experiences include working as a research intern at the Research Society of International Law (RSIL) analyzing the existing legal regime of Pakistan to combat epidemics and pandemics such as COVID-19. Furthermore, at Justice Project Pakistan he worked with Sarmad Khoosat for his play highlighting the inefficiency of Pakistan’s law in dealing with mentally incapable patients which paved the way toward the landmark judgement of Safia Bano v Home Department Government of Punjab by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Asad also worked as a legal associate at Minto & Mirza Advocates and Solicitors as an intern where he assisted senior lawyers in a variety of constitutional and commercial litigations.
Before Joining Awais Law DRT, Asad worked as a legal associate at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) where he led a team of multiple associates to provide tax consultancy to various clients ranging from Independent Power Producers to multinational insurance corporations.
Asad currently works intimately with the Awais Law DRT team to assist on a range of matters including commercial and civil litigation, international arbitration, corporate advisory, taxation, and intellectual property issues.
